Over the years Outintic house has turned into a small breathing community of individuals in search of their own balance  and goals in life. Breathing, because it expands in summer to up to 15 persons and minimizes by autumn: during the warmer months of Swedish summer, a group of young internationals move in together for a shared household and work, contributing to the costs of the house either by working hours or rent.

Outintics as we call ourselves, are most often people who at times don't feel home at home, experiencing a gap between their learning, reasoning, communication and behavioral patterns, and people in their nearest environment. Sometimes you need a little bit of distance to reflect on your place in the universe, your competences and strengths, to regain belief in your creativity and ability to change life of your own and others. Not least, you might need to learn to listen to others, to search and find common grounds, to understand other persectives and expand your horizons.

From time to time, we all need to be reminded about the great power of engagement and collaborative effort, where every one of us matters.

The days in the community are filled with life talks, reflections and sharing experiences,  house renovation and gardening, also cleaning, cooking, hiking, swimming, crafting, writing, painting...

A general principle is: staying in the community with a sleeping place and food included cost 50 euro per day, which could be replaced with 5 hours of work during Monday-Friday. On weekeends, everyone is responsible for their own food provisions. Cleaning duties are rotating and involving everyone since there is no cleaning personnel in the house.

Individual agreements can occur like internships, combined duties or arrangement of local cultural activities on weekends to cover weekend meals.

This year we open up a new initiative: Individual Art Projects!

IAP means that we prioritize places for people who are willing to invest their time into public art engagement. More specifically, turning the garden of the Outintic house into a public art space, by either small buildning/carpentry projects or garden work.
In practice it means that:
- You have a clear and reasonable idea about your art project. Please observe that due to volunteer and non-profit nature, the community doesn't have own budget for art materials and you'll have to either work with recycling/upcycling  or arrange sponsorship or funding activities, by yourself.
Reasonable means, that you have to clearly weight the ambition of your project with the resources and time at your disposal.
- You can commit to stay and complete your project
Please take into consideration that you may, or may not get help from other memebers of the community with conducting your project and you may encounter delays and conflicts, creator's block and discouragement if you see your image of work on the art piece is not corresponding with reality. You must be ready to carry on and stay resilient.
You can dedicate 2 of 5 working hours a day, to your project, plus of course any more of your personal time if you wish. If your contribution to the community is monetary, the deduction of the day fee is 15 euro (you pay 35 instead of 50).
- You document your work and make sure your project gets all the fame it deserves, in local society and outside of the village, online.

If you are interested to join, please write to the coordinator directly: contact@projectpocket.se

Please observe that amount of places in the house is limited so we might need to refuse a request, regardless to the quality of the proposal. If that happens, please don't take it personally!
